Lewis Hamilton not worried if Ron Dennis steps back

Lewis Hamilton Japanese GP Fuji Speedway winner 2007The young 23-year-old Briton has stated to German news magazine Focus to be ‘quite relaxed’ in the event that recent rumors get confirmed and Ron Dennis steps back from his current position as McLaren’s Team Principal. “If Ron wants to go, then he will go. My relationship with Mercedes-Benz is absolutely as strong as my relationship with McLaren. On this issue, I am quite relaxed,” Hamilton was quoted saying.

In the meantime, Norbert Haug has rejected rumors that Mercedes-Benz has insisted for Dennis’ replacement. “I am now in my fourteenth year together with Ron, and in that period, only one out of all the other teams has been more successful. As team leader, Ron has made a huge contribution. Everything else is speculation that has certainly not originated from our side,” he said.
