Jerez tests: McLaren-Mercedes on top
On the first official day of testing at Jerez, Lewis Hamilton and Pedro de la Rosa had the fastest lap times. Robert Kubica got the 3rd place while Kazuki Nakajima the 4th. Nelson Piquet placed on 5th, as he spent part of the day practicing pit-stops. Nick Heidfeld was on 6th despite his engine stall in the pitlane exit right before lunch…
Mark Webber, whose Red Bull Racing RB4 continued to feature the aerodynamic engine cover, closed on 7th. The only two red flags today were caused by Alexander Wurz and Sebastian Vettel as in both cases they went off the track. Testing will resume tomorrow.
