Japanese GP: Nico Rosberg gets penalty for engine change
Nico Rosberg will be demoted 10 places on Sundays’ grid for this weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix due to an engine change. The Toyota enginet used in his Williams car at the Belgian Grand Prix was found to have a problem during a post race factory check in Cologne.
Subsequently, it has been decided that he will need to use a new engine from the start of tomorrow’s qualifier session. This means Rosberg will be moved back 10 places on the grid from his qualifying position. Rosberg has enjoyed a recent run of points-scoring finishes that have helped his Williams team establish themselves as fourth in the constructors’ championship, just 11 points behind reigning champions Renault.
