Fernando Alonso to leave McLaren - OfficialA spokesman for the Honda F1 team has denied recent rumors linking Fernando Alonso with the Japanese team for a presumed deal valid for 2008 season. Sport Bild claimed yesterday that the Spaniard spent this week an entire day at the team’s Brackley headquarters and even had a seat fitting.

Reports also indicated that Alonso was given a personal tour by Ross Brawn, while the new team boss also apparently accompanied Rubens Barrichello to Honda-powered Super Aguri’s Leafield base to clear a seat for next year. The Honda spokeswoman said: “Fernando has not visited our factory, and Honda Racing confirmed their drivers for the 2008 season back in July.” It is also believed that, while Brawn did call in on Super Aguri with another person in tow, Barrichello was not part of the visiting party.
