Gerhard Berger: “Roustam Tariko, not a potential buyer” 

Scuderia Toro Rosso co-owner Gerhard Berger, following Mateschiz interview reported yesterday where the Austrian admitted that the team is up for sale, has dismissed rumors that among the potential buyers of the Faenza-based team there’s the Russian billionaire Roustam Tariko. Such speculations arose given Tariko’s presence during the Australian GP, as a guest for Toro Rosso.

But Berger, explained to SpeedTV that the Russian attended Melbourne’s race simply because he was in Australia on holiday: “I know him and he said, Gerhard, I would like to see the Grand Prix, and I said come here. Any sponsor would be welcome, but that’s not the reason why he’s here”.
