ING RenaultDespite a relative good performance during the qualifying session in last weekend’s French Grand Prix, former world champion Fernando Alonso has ruled out once again a possible podium finish at the upcoming British Grand Prix at Silverstone, suggesting that Renault will be able to go only into the points.

“At this moment I do not know if we’re in a position to get closer to the other teams,” the Spaniard told Spanish newspaper As. “I don’t think we can go much better at Silverstone,” he continued. “There have been races at which we seem to have improved but then the car is slow in the race with a lot of fuel. In the British Grand Prix, we will go into the points and not much further.”
