Alonso tops Monaco Saturday practice 

Button second quickest, Massa third.

Alonso, Monaco 2011Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso has topped the timesheets in the final practice session ahead of Sunday’s 2011 Monaco Grand Prix.

The Spaniard completed 15 laps, the fastest in 1:14.433, 0.563 seconds quicker than McLaren’s Jenson Button (1:14.996).

Third fastest time for Felipe Massa in the other Ferrari (1:15.024), ahead of Sebastian Vettel (1:15.245), Michael Schumacher (1:15.310), Lewis Hamilton (1:15.386), Mark Webber (1:15.529), Jaime Alguersuari (1:16.617) and Sebastien Buemi (1:16.736).

Tenth time in the session for Sergio Perez in the Sauber, 11th for Paul Di Resta in the Force India, 12th for Rubens Barrichello, 13th for Pastor Maldonado, 14th for Kamui Kobayashi, 15th for Renault’s Vitaly Petrov and 15th for Nick Heidfeld.

No time set in the session for Mercedes GP’s Nico Rosberg following a big shunt in the first minutes of the session. The German lost the back end under braking at the tunnel exit and hit the barriers just before the chicane.

The session was red-flagged a second time with just 5 minutes to go when Tonio Liuzzi crashed his HRT into the wall at the Ste Devote turn.
