2009 Chinese GP, 1st free practice: Hamilton fastest

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton has topped the timesheets in the first free practice for the 2009 Chinese Grand Prix by taking full advantage of the new aero package fitted on the MP4-24. Hamilton completed 22 laps with his fastest in 1:37.334, 0.116 seconds faster than Brawn GP’s Jenson Button (1:37.450).
Third time for Rubens Barrichello (1:37.566) ahead of McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen (1:37.672), Red Bull’s Mark Webber (1:37.752), Toyota’s Jarno Trulli (1:37.764), Williams’ Nico Rosberg (1:37.860) and Timo GLock (1:38.089). Only 11th time for Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen and 14th for team-mate Felipe Massa.
