Jerez, winter test – December 9th, 2008: Sebastien Buemi fastest
The Spanish circuit of Jerez hosted today another test session in preparation for the 2009 season. The fastest driver on Day 1 was Sebastien Buemi at the wheel of a Toro Rosso. The young Swiss driver, completed 91 laps around the Spanish track, the fastest in 1:18.742. Second fastest time for Sebastien Bourdais (Toro Rosso) who was followed by McLaren-Mercedes’ test driver duo with Gary Paffett (1:20.134) ahead of Pedro de la Rosa (1:20.164).
Fifth time for Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen (1:20.261, 48 laps), sixth for BMW’s Nick Heidfeld (1:20.678, 49 laps), seventh for Williams’ Kazuki Nakajima (1:21.338, 57 laps), eighth for Renault’s Nelsinho Piquet (1:21.547, 124 laps) and ninth for BMW’s Christian Klien (1:22.098, 15 laps).
The drivers will be back on track tomorrow for the second day of testing.
