2009 Malaysian Grand Prix, red flagThe 2009 Malaysian Grand Prix has been currently red flagged following a heavy rain downpour. During lap 32 of the race the Safety car was deployed given the extremely difficult conditions at the Sepang circuit. Brawn GP’s Jenson Button was leading the race, followed by Nick Heidfeld, Timo Glock, Jarno Trulli, Rubens Barrichello, Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and Mark Webber.

There’s no communication yet from the FIA stewards if the race will be restarted. Drivers are currently deciding if that’s the case.

Looks like the 2009 Malaysian Grand Prix will be restarted behind the Safety Car, no official communication though.

FIA Communication: Race NOT restarted.

Jenson Button wins his second consecutive grand prix, followed by Nick Heidfeld, Timo Glock, Jarno Trulli, Rubens Barrichello, Mark Webber, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.

The drivers will be awarded with half of the points as they didn’t complete 75% of the event (42 laps).
