2008 Malaysian GP, 1st Free Practice Session: Massa leads Ferrari one-two 

On the first free practice session of the Malaysian GP at Sepang’s International Circuit, Ferrari’s Felipe Massa had the fastest lap time followed by his teammate Kimi Raikkonen. Raikkonen, who had a problem during the middle of the session, was followed by Heikki Kovalainen (3rd), Nico Rosberg (4th), Lewis Hamilton (5th), Fernando Alonso (6th) and Nelson Piquet jr. (7th).

Kimi Raikkonen had initially the fastest time with 1’36”459 but on his second run his F2008 suddenly slowed down and stopped on the track. He probably run out of fuel.

Red Bull’s David Coulthard and Mark Webber faced some problems; the Scot caused a red flag as he went out of track and his RB4′s suspension collapsed while the Australian had to stop for an engine problem.
