Felipe Massa and Lewis HamultonIn less than ten minutes the final Grand Prix of the season will take place at the Interlagos circuit in Brazil and just like last year, the race, will feature the final and crucial battle for the 2008 Formula One Drivers’ Championship. Currently, McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton has a seven point lead to Ferrari’s Felipe Massa but the title is still an open bussiness; the possible scenarios, however, are quite a few.

Lewis Hamilton will be crowned 2008 World Champion if:

  • He wins the race
  • He finishes the race second, third, fourth or fifth
  • He finishes sixth or seventh and Felipe Massa is second or lower
  • He finishes eighth and Felipe Massa is third or lower
  • He fails to score and Felipe Massa is third or lower

Felipe Massa, instead, will be crowned 2008 World Champion if:

  • He wins the Brazilian Grand Prix and Lewis Hamilton finishes sixth or lower
  • He finishes second and Lewis Hamilton is eighth or fails to score points
