2008 Belgian GP: Nick Heidfeld tops final free practice

In the third and final free practice session for Sunday’s Grand Prix of Belgium, BMW’s Nick Heidfeld clocked the fastest time. The track, initially wet, got dry at the end of the session and Heidfeld was able to clock a 1:47.876, 0.28 seconds faster than McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen (1:48.165). The McLaren driver was followed by Fernando Alonso (1:48.307), Lewis Hamilton (1:48.356), Felipe Massa (1:48.692), Sebastian Vettel (1:48.768) and Kimi Raikkonen (1:48.815).
The drivers will be back on track in about an hour for the Qualifying session.
