Fernando Alonso: “30 percent chances to win 2008 title”
Former McLaren-Mercedes driver Fernando Alonso, believes that his chances to win the F1 World Championship this year, are limited to just “30%” but denies being “overly pessimistic”. The Spaniard said this morning to a Spanish radio: “No, not at all, to say that we will be between position seven and nine on the grid in Australia is not pessimistic, I just respond honestly to questions. The truth is that we simply lack a car to fight for the podium. The car is better than it was last year, but we continue to struggle with the Bridgestone tires,” he added, explaining that in his opinion the R28 is missing about half of a second per lap in order to fight with McLaren and Ferrari.
