Hamilton tops first Hungary practice
Vettel second fastest, Alonso third.
McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton set the fastest lap in the opening free practice session ahead of Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring circuit.
Hamilton set a best time of 1:23.350, beating by 0.214 seconds championship leader Sebastian Vettel in the Red Bull (1:23.564) and by 0.292 Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari (1:23.642).
Fourth fastest time in the session for Mark Webber in the other Red Bull (1:23.666), fifth for Jenson Button in the other McLaren (1:23.772), sixth for Felipe Massa (1:24.115), seventh for Mercedes GP’s Nico Rosberg (1:24.250) and eighth for Michael Schumacher (1:24.369).
Ninth time for Sauber’s Sergio Perez ahead of Vitaly Petrov in the Renault, team-mate Kamui Kobayashi, Paul Di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg in the Force India, Rubens Barrichello in the Williams, Bruno Senna in the other Renault and Sebastien Buemi in the first of the Toro Rossos.
